TITLE: Cook, Regular Full-Time, Furlough
DEPARTMENT: Head Start, Pueblo of Jemez
SALARY: $9.32-$11.19 per hour DOQ
JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Nutrition Coordinator, prepares meals for Head Start and Child Care children to meet the minimum daily nutritional requirements of program participants.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post secondary education preferred.
- Two or more years experience in food preparation for large groups or in a school setting.
- Physical health examination, Tuberculosis Test and Hepatitis B. Series vaccinations need to be on file prior to starting work.
- First Aid and CPR required, or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Food handler’s care required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable with the tribe’s insurance carrier.
- Position subject to a criminal background and motor vehicle background check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
- Skill in preparing menus.
- Knowledge of proper handling of food and sanitation requirements.
- Ability to adhere to all compliance and confidentiality guidelines.
