PUEBLO OF JEMEZ (POJ)
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SUMMARY
 
MEDICAL INSURANCE: 100% paid by POJ for eligible employees; and 50% contribution for eligible family members.Regular full time and part-time (30+ hours per week) employees are eligible for participation in the program (and dental and vision below) on the first day of the month following completion of 30 days of employment. The medical plan is a PPO through Lovelace Health Insurance.
 
DELTA DENTAL: 100% paid by POJ for eligible employees; and 50% contribution for eligible family members.
 
VISION SERVICE PLAN: 100% paid by POJ for eligible employees; and 50% contribution for eligible family members.
 
LIFE INSURANCE: 100% paid by POJ for eligible employees.Includes Group Term Life; Accidental Death and Dismemberment; Living Benefits; Short Term Disability; and Long Term Disability.
 
WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE: 100% paid by POJ for all employees.Benefits are paid under the Policy only, if you, the insured, sustain a work injury while performing your job duties. You must report all injuries to your supervisor and the HR office immediately.
 
EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT PLAN: Employee is eligible to participate after completing 90 days of employment and attaining age 21. Enrollment dates are quarterly – Jan. 1; April 1; July 1; October 1 of each year. 5 % of an employee’s gross wages is contributed by the POJ. Employee can contribute up to the statutorily determined amounts with a wide variety of investment funds.
Vesting schedule: 1 year – 50%; 2 years – 75% and 3 or more years – 100%
 
PAID TIME OFF (PTO): PTO for full time employees accumulate at 8 hours per pay period. An employee may accumulate a maximum of 320 hours/year.Part-time employees earn PTO on a prorated basis. PTO accumulates, but may not be used until after successful completion of a probationary period. 
 
HOLIDAYS: POJ observes the following holidays: New Year’s Day; MLK Day; President’s Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; All Soul’s Day; Veteran’s Day; Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day. Other holidays may be designated throughout the year.
 
MATERNITY/PATERNITY LEAVE: Following one year of full-time continuous employment, 10 days of paid maternity/paternity leave is granted to a regular employee who is expecting or is the biological father.
 
OTHER BENEFITS: Education Leave; Professional Development; Employee Assistance Program; Bereavement Leave; and Wellness Leave (1 ½ hours per week is allowed for an employee to participate in a preapproved exercise activity or program sponsored wellness activity). All employees are eligible to use the services of the Jemez Health and Human Services Department (i.e. medical, dental, pharmacy, labs) subject to the requirements of their applicable health coverage plans.
 
STATUTORY BENEFITS: These include employer contributions to Social Security; FMLA eligibility; USERRA coverage; and unemployment insurance coverage.
