TITLE:                        Housing Director, Regular Full-Time 
DEPARTMENT:            Housing, Pueblo of Jemez 
SALARY:                    DOQ 
 
JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Tribal Administrator, responsible for the planning, development, coordination and implementation of the Pueblo of Jemez Housing development.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
 
  • College degree with a B.A. in Public or Business Administration, Planning, Architecture, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
  • Four or more years of progressively responsible experience in housing development and/or construction.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the tribe’s insurance carrier. 
  • Position subject to a criminal background and motor vehicle background check.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
 
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including financial analysis, loan packaging, and market analysis.
  • Knowledge of public housing programs (NAHASDA); HUD regulations; eligibility and reporting requirements; and other regulations governing the delivery and operation of tribal housing programs.
  • Proven skills in management, supervisory and time management skills for the supervision of Housing department staff.
  • Excellent grant writing skills and ability to clearly outline a financing plan, market study results, and other documents generated in the housing development and operational process.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, tribal members and community, public officials, other departments and agencies, and general public.
  • Knowledge of community infrastructure and development, to include public works, transportation and water systems.
  • Ability to adhere to all compliance and confidentiality guidelines.
