Planning and Development Department
Mission: To assist Governance, Tribal Administration, Departments and Programs in developing short- and long-term strategic plans for reaching the goals and objectives of the Pueblo of Jemez; to manage specific development projects as assigned by Governors and Tribal Administration.
The Planning and Development Department was created in April 2008 with the goal, as defined by the Tribal Council on April 25, 2008, to:
“coordinate and conduct, as directed, the implementation of the Pueblo of Jemez’s planning efforts, including short- and long-term forecasting, planning for infrastructure, roads, tribal buildings, tribal projects and economic and community development; provide expertise in planning-related issues, respond to inquiries from administration staff, community and governors regarding all proposals and active projects.”
Objectives
- To coordinate Master Planning and comprehensive Strategic Planning activities and products for the Pueblo of Jemez
- “Vision 2020”
- Comprehensive Plan 2010
- Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
- Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP)
- To provide technical assistance in the development of Strategic Plans
- To provide technical assistance in securing necessary funds to implement projects and programs through
- identification of funding opportunities
- technical assistance in grant writing
- providing technical assistance in inter and intra departmental liaison including assistance in management activities
- Coordinate Capital Outlay and other funding requests on behalf of the Pueblo of Jemez (e.g. ICIP, TIF, ARRA, etc.)
- To provide administrative oversight, management and delivery of the Pueblo of Jemez Transportation and Roads Program
- To provide administrative oversight, management and delivery of the Pueblo of Jemez Economic Development Program.
