Resource Protection
Mission: To support Tribal Leaders in the managing, monitoring, and protecting lands and resources important to the Pueblo of Jemez in a manner that complements, respects, and defends traditional Jemez culture.
The Department of Resource Protection (DRP) came into existence in 1996 and has been working with Tribal leaders to protect, preserve and properly manage the Pueblo 's natural and cultural resources.
DRP's staff works on many different projects involving water quality, air quality, asthma prevention, environmental education, soil and water conservation, cultural resource inventories, renewable energy assessments, conservation law enforcement, and many other projects important to the health and well being of the Pueblo.
The DRP intends to improve and expand the services and programs offered so that the natural and cultural resources we enjoy today are here for others to enjoy in the future.
