COVID-19 Resources and Information

Mission statement:
Our mission is to motivate patients to make changes to improve their health and life through universal screening and early substance-use intervention.

Services offered:

  • Receive consults or warm handoffs of patients from providers
  • Screening patients
  • Brief intervention
  • Referral to treatment

Intent:

  • To place risky substance use where it belongs—in the realm of healthcare, and to help prevent the onset of the costlier disease of addiction. Similar to preventive screenings for chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and hypertension, the SBIRT Program is not only an effective tool for identifying risk levels related to substance use, but also intervenes for mental health issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and trauma
  • To provide immediate access for patients to screening for mental health, substance use, domestic violence, and tobacco-use
  • Early intervention to reduce risk of individuals at moderate risk for substance abuse
  • To prevent health and other related consequences and save healthcare costs
